Fall Fun and Halloween Treats!

Well, if a picture says a thousand words, we are about to have one very long conversation. I am sorry that it took so long for me to update but I want to catch you up so here are some great pictures, with a few words. Enjoy!

You may not be able to tell, but it is snowing in this picture. That's right, Little E saw her first snow in the beginning of October while her dad was off having fun with his friend in Colorado! (where it was nice and warm at the time)

Little E got to eat her first solid food about 10 days ago. She was starting to get really interested in what we were eating so we thought we would let her try some rice cereal. She really liked it and often lunges for the spoon when we feed her! Its so cute!

We had a great time the night that we carved pumpkins because we got some really wonderful pictures! The little outfit that she is wearing came from her Aunt Lori and I love it! She looks so cute next to the pumpkin.

This is one of the few family photos that we have of us all. Trek always seems to make taking family photos a little difficult. He likes facing us instead of the camera.

Another new thing that is going on at our house is practice for our band! It's name is Occam's Razor.
Yes, that is Grandpa... on a fork lift... with a chain saw...

Now you can see how high he is! CRAZY!!!

This tree didn't go without a fight! It bounced off of the stump underneath it and took a chunk of Grandpa with it! Fortunately he is Indiana Jones and can take such abuse without too much damage.

Tree Carnage!! Who knew yard work could be so scary? It takes two men, power tools, and lots of testosterone to make such a mess!


This was a treat that my man decided to give his class for Halloween! After all, what is cooler to teach in science than ways to explode common household items? Blowing fire is something he has become famous for. :)



Little E was a glow worm caterpillar for Halloween this year. She has glowing ankles, an extra set of legs, leaves sown onto her sleeves (for her to snack on), and antenna on her hat. I made everything but the pj's that she is wearing! (with lots of help from my mom) My sister had a very good insight that I am going to have to keep in mind. She said if I don't stop while I am ahead I will end up making costumes for the school plays! Maybe next year we will do a store bought costume. :)

We got to go trick or treating and see Grandma Phyllis! She was so happy to see our little bug and really got a kick out of her new legs! We also got to say hi to all of the other sweet people who live at the Homestead too. Little E was sure to give each one a huge toothless grin!

Mommy was a tree because tree's are caterpillar's food sources! ;)

Daddy and Little E had a lot of fun outside one of our neighbors houses while we were trick or treating.



Trick or Treating at Grandma and Grandpa's! We kept this picture a little dark so you could see the glowing on Little E's legs! Isn't she cute!

Grandpa thinks that Little E makes a great little bug! He had a grand time making her smile for the camera by doing silly faces behind her dads back!

We love our Grandma! She is so great to have around and really helped us to have a fun Halloween! (Especially with her translation of the gibberish in the sewing patterns for my hat!)

Family Fun!

This has been such a great week! I got to go see my sister and her new baby and then Little E and I got to hang out with grandma and they both had so much fun.


Boise was beautiful and we had a great time comparing our babies and helping each other out. I took a lot of fun pictures of our little yin and yang cousins. As you can see they are very different in color but I think they will both really love to play together. Little E already liked holding her cousin's hand.


Little E also had her first guitar lesson with her daddy on her uncles guitar while we were there.


Grandma was so fun to visit with. She really loves to see the new babies in the family (I took some pictures of my sister's daughter) and she can't wait to see the sweet new baby in person. I was able to get grandma some Halloween decorations and some candy for visitors and trick or treater's. She really loves having something to give to those who come to see her and it made her room feel a lot more like what her home always felt like... a place to come and visit and get something sweet! j/k


I couldn't believe how much Little E loved to see Grandma. She just giggled and cooed the whole time we were there and grandma did the same right back! I love seeing them together. I was so glad that I took my camera to show pictures to grandma so that I could snap some shots and videos.

Cinematography with a Premadonna!

Well, I recently updated my blog for my Lilly Pod Wraps. I needed to do my own videos of the ways that you tie and put babies into the wrap. I wanted to use my adorable daughter as a model. Little did I know that she was a pre-madonna! Don't get me wrong, I love her and she was cute as a button, but she knew that if she spit up on me enough times I would stop pestering her in front of the camera... She was right!

Eventually we just gave up and both went home to change. (She has made changing time one of my favorite parts of the day because she now plays with and eats her toes!)

Finally It Makes Sense!

I went to a food storage activity last week and was totally lost. It was all so complex and beyond my reach... but I wanted to try getting better at food storage. So I did a search on google for everyday recipes that work with food storage. I found an article in a Utah newspaper and struck gold!

It has real food, easy recipes, even videos on how to do it! But the best thing it has is conversions for powder milk and powder egg in all the recipes that call for them!

Four Months and More Fun Than Ever!

That's right! Little E is a whole four months old! She loves to talk, laugh, eat her toes, and have her tummy eaten by mom and dad!

Some of the things that make her laugh are shoulder rides with daddy and watching the dogs have fun.





Today we got to wear a new dress! Its a size 12 months but we don't trust sizes any more! Isn't it the cutest thing ever!

Lots of fun stuff has been happening around here. There have been scouting camp outs, I have started selling my wraps at a store, Little E has figured out how to use her hands to grab stuff, and we played a new game called Killer Bunnies. It is a very morbid game where you try to kill off the other players bunnies so that you can have the magic carrots! Its actually pretty fun.

We are also hoping for a new little cousin sometime soon! It would be really cool if she came today because then she would have the same birthday as little E just four months off! We are only one month off with our other little cousin who was born April 21st.

Well, we don't have much else to talk about. So enjoy the pics and videos and know that we love you!

Cows and Sheep

A few weeks back I got fed up with Little E waking me up every forty minutes during the night. I had been trying Baby Wise, but it just wasn't quite enough so I added in a different sleep method called Sleep Sense Program. The combination of the two has finally done the trick! Two nights ago I woke up at 3 am realizing that she hadn't woken me up at 11 pm or 2:30 am. "huh" I thought and rolled back over to go to sleep. Then at 4:30 am I woke up again and was really starting to worry. "she has never gone this long before. Is she crying and I just didn't hear her because I closed my bedroom door?! Is she even breathing!! Something must be wrong!!!!" So I rushed into her room only to hear her sigh and see her sleeping contentedly. I was so worked up that I couldn't get back to sleep for a whole hour while I tried to count sheep. I finally fell asleep at 5:30 and woke at 6:30 to her finally wanting something to eat.

By this time I was totally engorged! I have never related to a cow more at any time in my life. I even had to pump after she finished eating and went back to sleep because she only fixed one side.

Last night she did it again only she went an hour longer! I am so happy to be sleeping through the night, but I don't know what to do with myself when I wake up. I no longer know how to roll over and go back to sleep without going in and feeding her. My body is also not sure of what to do with so much sleep. Its like a drug. My body wants more and more of it as I increase my dosage! I'm sure it will all adjust eventually. But until then you can just call me Bessie the Insomniac.
